Staff Profile

Hi! 

I’m Teacher Raelyn. I use they/she pronouns. I’m born and raised Saint Paul, a nice mix of the North-End, Payne-Arcade, and Frogtown parts. I’ve been teaching in Early Childhood settings since graduating high school from Como Park in 2015. I knew teaching was my calling when I shadowed one of my mentors and saw the connection and love of learning children discover. Recently I graduated with my bachelor's in urban early childhood education with a minor in native studies.  

I chose Frost Lake because of our staff's commitment to justice and courageous conversations about the intersections of education and bias. My philosophy of teaching is hands-on experiences and having children ask themselves and their peers about their thinking. These experiences are a large foundation of critical thinking skills. 

My favorite color is usually purple or green. I love all the weather changes we get in Minnesota. I adore spending as much time as I can outside, barefoot walks and hikes have been my favorite this summer specifically.
