Staff Profile

Megan Doerr
One of the best and worst part of teaching is that there is a beginning and end each year. Every fall I am filled with excitement and anticipation as I prepare for another group of amazing students. Unfortunately, it is also a reminder of how fast the years are flying by. Frost Lake has been my second home for the past 28 years. I have taught 4 different grade levels, in 8 different classrooms, under 4 different principles and 6 different Superintendents, through 3 different building remodels, countless curriculums, and every changing technology. When I'm not at school I can be found gardening, reading, crafting, caring for my dogs, spending time with family, writing curriculum, and/or bargain hunting. Below are some of my core beliefs;
- A strong partnership between school and home is essential.
- Things work best if we all do our best to be; well rested, present and prepared to learn./teach.
- Taking risks and making mistakes are key to learning.
- Classroom rules, rituals, and routines should be clear, consistent, and equitable.
- We speak our truth, listen to other's perspectives, own our choices and are responsible to repair harm when we cause it.
