Laura Seidel

Tchr - Science Prep

My name is Ms. Seidel and I am the PreK-5 Science teacher at Frost Lake Elementary! My pronouns are she/her. This is my 16th year in SPPS and my 6th year teaching Science at Frost Lake. Before I came to Frost, I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades at an International Baccalaureate school, and I love incorporating inquiry-based learning into my classroom. I also love spending time outside, so having outdoor science is an important part of our learning at Frost Lake.

Teaching at Frost Lake has given me the opportunity to broaden my teaching, and implement creative ways to learn science. I truly love the students and staff, and feel grateful to work at such a forward-thinking and tech-saavy school. I am really looking forward to getting to know all of my students and their families this year. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me-I would love to connect!

Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate integration of the younger generation into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity, or it becomes the practice of freedom-the means by which men and women deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world.

-Paulo Freire
